We began by understanding Dameon Halstead's campaign platform, target audience (families, parents, and educators in Scarborough Ward 11), and unique value proposition. Special focus was given to the campaign's core message and the key issues facing the local education system. This defined a clear and logical site structure centred on platform transparency, community engagement, and voter action.
The design followed a clean, professional, and community-oriented aesthetic to reflect hope, trust, and civic pride. Strategic use of imagery—including the candidate's professional portrait and the Canadian flag motif—combined with a clear typographic hierarchy and a colour palette of blue, white, and purple, ensured clarity while maintaining an approachable and confident feel.
Content was crafted to simplify the campaign's platform into clear, concise messaging. Each policy area—from Mental Health Support to Transparent Leadership—was structured to highlight the candidate's commitments and the benefits for students and families. Strong emphasis was placed on the "What We Will Deliver" section, which outlines commitments to putting children first, providing dedicated mental health support, creating safer learning environments, and fostering greater parent and community engagement. The website also integrated a live countdown to election day and a voter sign-up form to capture supporter information.
